Uzbekistan Railways JSC was founded in 1994 on the basis of the former Central Asian railroad located on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Total developed length of the main railroads of the company makes about 3,645 km. The main company’s activities are: forwarding and cargo delivery by rail; repair and maintenance of railway cars; passenger and tourist traffic. Since 1993, the Uzbekistan Railways JSC has been a member of the Organization of the Commonwealth of Railroads (OCR). The company has developed close relations with the International Union of the Railroads (IUR) and the Economic commission of the UN for the Pacific Rim (ESCAP).
